"Technical Aspects of Collision Analysis 1"
This thirty-two hour class details the use of the conservation of linear momentum theory and its application to traffic accident investigation. Examining different derivation techniques will be applied along with determining approach and departure angles. Eight hours of field work simulating on-site measuring techniques will be applied. Crush theory and its application to traffic accident and accident studies will be examined. Different authors and scientists will be explored. Proper measuring techniques of automobiles concerning crash damage from different angles and the bowing of vehicles studied. At least eight hours of field study will be applied to the damage theory. Examing "old theories", 70's & 80's theory, and new applications of vehicle crush coefficients must be applied. Finally the strengths and weaknesses of vehicle damage theory and its application to motor vehicle traffic accidents.
