ARMY TM 9-1245 AND FM 23-70 37mm AT GUN MANUAL EXCERPTS

Note: The photos below are serial No. 1 Mac M3, fully assembled and ready to roll.  The drawings will show you more detail !

There is a dummy breech block and charging handle which rotates.  TOTALLY NON-FUNCTIONAL! Note: The wooden breech face is not included, but the drawing is and it is simple to make!

Breech data plate is real nice, and the tube lock works for towing / traveling.

Simulated gear cases and mechanisms add realism.

Notice the Traverse and Elevating mechanisms and handwheels, and dummy firing plunger components installed. The gun does elevate and traverse perfectly on tapered bearings, nice and smooth! The kit has dummy versions of all of those items, but they will not actually do the elevating or traversing.  You can jury-rig that yourself, if you are a Rube Goldberg, or a McGiver type.

Sighting arm where the scope mounts moves in parallel with the barrel as it should!  Scope and rings (not included) can be tapped into the scope plate.  You purchase a $30 scope (smooth tube 3X with ticked crosshairs looks the part!) and mount it.  It is TOO COOL to scope in on stuff.  The scope container hangs on web straps, upper left of shield.  Scope container not included, but very simple to make!.

Wheel segments actually will rotate and chock the cannon off the ground for simulated firing position! The segments are lubricated with a strip of canvas wiped with Multi-Purpose grease.

The lower armor apron drops down for protection and latches up for travel.  Tool box works as it is designed.

Trail legs work as designed, open, close, latch, and tow.  Heavy duty latch mechanism included.  Tow ring included. Rammer rods (1-1/4" wood dowels, not included) are mounted on trail legs in standoffs.

GOT A WC-55 WEAPONS CARRIER? PUT THE RIGHT 37mm ON IT!

I WILL SELL THE GUN WITHOUT THE CARRIAGE PARTS, SO YOU CAN MOUNT IT ON JEEPS, TRACKS OR A GOLF CART!

Designed for assembly onto military 1/4 ton trailer (M416 or M100) axle/wheel assemblies.  You can easily adapt to a commercial trailer axle assy if you desire. See below......

Towing behind vehicles (at low speeds!!) is fine.  NOT recommended for road speeds above 15 MPH due to the possibility that the unit is not welded square, true, or securely.  Even originals were not designed for that!!!!  Has handles on trails for crew movement and set-up.

NOTE: Axle Ass'y (designed for using certain common trailer axles and wheels, but IF YOU USE A MILITARY 1/4 TON TRAILER AXLE you must cut the tube and add enough to get 50" between the inside edges of the tires!! It's not that hard to do.)  You will also need the height provided by a military 16" rim and tire.  The lower armor hangs down below the axle.  M100, M416, BANTAM, AND MBT AXLE ASS'YS ARE TOO NARROW FOR UNMODIFIED USE WITH THIS KIT. YOU WILL NEED 50" CLEAR FROM INSIDE OF TIRE TO INSIDE OF TIRE FOR WHATEVER AXLE ASS'Y YOU GET.  THERE ARE INEXPENSIVE CIVILIAN TRAILER AXLES VERY COMMON THAT ARE PERFECT!  See below!  (or click here for a .pdf drawing)
