In the the past few weeks, I have been swamped with emails about the 37mm canon kit, and most of the questions are similar.  That is why I wrote this information page, to answer all that I can.

Price for the kit: $1,095.00 plus shipping**. May go up, may go down.  Steel prices are going out of sight!!  You can send an earnest money downpayment of $200 to hold your place in line.  Balance of payment is due prior to shipping the kit.

Most Frequently Asked Questions and Answers:

 1. Could I post pictures of a completed replica 37mm?

Answer:  There are, finally, pics of a finished assembly on the website.    There are many excellent drawings on the site of completed gun kit and the cut parts kit.  These are the actual computer models and will show you the level of detail even better than a photo!

 2. What will it cost and how will it be packaged to ship the kit to Timbucto?

**Answer:  Averitt Express will carry the freight to a secondary carrier near you.  They will continue the load to you under contract from Averitt.   The load leaves FOB Cookeville , Tennessee , 38506 , to your destination.  I will get you a freight price based on FOB Cookeville to your zip code, RESIDENTIAL DELIVERY.  You will get one phone call, one day in advance, and you must get it off the truck.  If you don't have a forklift, you can cut the bands and take off the parts and boxes individually if you are physically able.  Or you can go to the freight carriers nearest dock and they will set it on your tailgate.  Replica cannon kit will be shipped on a wooden pallet to you with  small parts in a large ammo box and a tube with the barrel parts in it.  You provide all labor and assembly.  It weighs  275 lbs on a 4' x 4'  wooden pallet/skid, steel banded and well marked.  All computer cut parts will be on one pallet, shipped truck-freight FOB to your specified truck-freight receipt point.   All purchase components in the kit and the assembly instructions will ship ON THE SAME PALLET to you in the large ammo can.

Example: If I shipped one to Bremerton, Washington, would be about $400+.  So thats about as far away as you can get from me.  In the shipping quote,  I will add a modest bit for the many expenses and labor just to properly pack these things.  It is 2-3 hours work and lots of costs.

3. How do I order and when will it arrive?

Answer: You don't need to sign up or send money until you are ready...when you decide to start the 37mm you send funds via personal check or money order, and that puts you in que for the next available kit, and I put in the order for the plasma cutter to cut the parts.   Should be 4-6 weeks or longer if the trend continues, from receipt of funds till you get your stuff. ORDERS WILL BE FILLED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS.  IF YOU WANT ONE, SEND EARNEST MONEY AND I'LL FILL ORDERS IN THAT SEQUENCE.  THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE!!!

4. What will it take to build it?

Answer: You provide all labor and assembly.  Welding, some rolling and forming, measuring, finish grinding, priming, painting, detailing, some drilling, tapping, bending, hammering, sweating.....but it WILL be fun and WILL be worth it!!!!!!!  I estimate 110 man hours of average-to-low skilled metal work/welding hours.  That is JUST an estimate.

5. Is it wood, or die cast, plastic, aluminum, steel or what?

The kit is almost entirely made of high quality American Steel!   There are some phenolic  knobs, zinc die cast knobs and handles, etc, but only where appropriate for what was original.  This is not a wooden toy or a resin copy, or a cast aluminum piece of NAFTA garbage, or anything like that. This is designed and made in the USA by ME, Mac Systems Replicas, just a hillbilly from Tennessee.  Some purchase parts in the kit may come from somewhere else, I can't help that.  If Americans still made it here, I’d buy it here.  Sorry.

7. What kind of axle can I use?

Answer:  See below…..

8. Do I sell to dealers or do I have reps?

Answer:  Sure, I’ll sell to a dealer.  But as of now I am so busy I can’t catch up, so the price is the same unless you order quantity, then we can negotiate…no reps yet, either….maybe next year?

9. How do I order?

Send to, and make check or money order payable to: (personal checks held to clear)

10. What is my phone number?  How can I talk to Mac Systems?

I don't put my phone number in the website because this is a home based side business,  and last time I did that I was overwhelmed with 5-10 calls a night and couldn't get anything done.  I have a real job, too, and a family, so I hope the website will help answer any questions you have.  Email me if you need more info....

Kit Includes:

  1. Complete, highly illustrated instructions and welding/assembly details. About 36 11x17 pages plus step by step instructions.
  2. All the hard stuff to make will be made with either computer precision-laser or plasma cut to shape.
  3. Uncommon fasteners, hard-to-find, odd-ball stuff, etc.
  4. Tapered barrel components, already rolled and partially tac welded together, since this is a bit tricky for someone not skilled or equipped to roll conical sections of steel!
  5. 1/4" thick steel armor!
  6. Wheel chocks (called "SEGMENT, WHEEL") are included.  May require some redesign or jury-rig to work on various axle/wheel combinations.  This will test your creativity!  These may just be built static (non-movable) if it becomes too big a hassle for you.  You don't need them anyway....but they look cool!
  7. Traverse and elevation dummy mechanisms / hand wheels.  If you get a little creative, make them function!!!
  8. Main traverse bearing system.
  9. Tool box and lid, in the flat pattern (not formed into box shape).
  10. The kit is almost entirely made of steel.  There are some phenolic  knobs, zinc die cast handles, etc, but only where appropriate for what was original.  This is not a wooden toy or a resin copy, or a cast aluminum piece of NAFTA garbage, or anything like that. This is designed and made in the USA by ME! A hillbilly from Tennessee.  Some purchase parts in the kit may come from somewhere else, I can't help that.  Sorry.
  11. Data Plates:  One for the M4 Carriage Assy and one for the M3 Gun Tube Assy!  These are uniquely serialized for your gun, and bear the original type of information.  The plates are 0.020" aluminum plate.

 Does not include:

  1. Wheel rims, NDT tires, axle assy:
  2. NOTE: Axle Ass'y (designed for using certain common trailer axles and wheels, but IF YOU USE A MILITARY 1/4 TON TRAILER AXLE you must cut the tube and add enough to get 50" between the inside edges of the tires!! It's not that hard to do.)   The parts are designed to fit an axle tube diameter of 2.318”.   You will also need the height provided by a military 16" rim and tire.  The lower armor hangs down below the axle.  M100, M416, BANTAM, AND MBT AXLE ASS'YS ARE TOO NARROW FOR UNMODIFIED USE WITH THIS KIT. YOU WILL NEED 50" CLEAR FROM INSIDE OF TIRE TO INSIDE OF TIRE FOR WHATEVER AXLE ASS'Y YOU GET.  THERE ARE INEXPENSIVE CIVILIAN TRAILER AXLES VERY COMMON THAT ARE PERFECT!
  3. NOTE:  I RECENTLY FOUND A PERFECT COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE AXLE WITH HUBS FOR $90 PLUS FREIGHT!  I will give you the name and phone number when you order the kit should you choose to go with this axle.  It is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Sighting scope. (uses an M7 military or commercial rifle equivalent of it), leather scope case, scope case canvas web straps, footman loops, scope rings or scope ring mount rail. All easily obtained.
  5. Fasteners, (and other components easily obtained at local stores so you dont have to pay shipping.) hinges, hasps, latches, nuts, bolts, washers, footman loops, etc.
  6. Trail Leg Tubes (locally available item) 3" x 4" rectangular 11 ga. steel tube.
  7. Some other commonly available stuff like small pieces of pipe, flat bar, round bar, pipe clamps, all threaded rod, steel plate, footman loops. All will be available at common salvage yards or hardware stores!
  8. No painted parts, all raw un-finished edge steel.
  9. Plasma cut metal parts will require edge grinding and finishing to your satisfaction.
  10. Divorce lawyer and/or a doghouse to sleep in.

 Machinery and tools needed:

1. Mig wire feed gas shielded welder, and someone to drive it.  It should be powerful enough to weld full penetration on 1/4" plate steel.

2. Grinders with rock disc and flapper sander discs.

3. Hand tools, all sorts.

4. Metal brake that can handle 18 ga. steel. (Many HVAC places can do this cheap cheap!)

5. 3-roll rollformer. Handy but not absolutely required.  You can bend these parts in non-conventional ways.  Like driving your jeep across them....

6. Hand-held plasma cutter, also handy but not absolutely required.

7. Space to set-up, and layout your parts.  Your bedroom will also be consumed by parts.

8. Drills and bits.

9. Bandaids, sucking chest wound compress, sulfa powder and a wooden stake.
