SPARE PARTS KIT FOR GPW AND MB JEEPS

Spare parts kit for GPW and MB jeeps.  This kit is something every WWII jeep owner will eventually want to have, and will spend an enormous amount of time and money obtaining.  This kit saves you time and money, and will look great with your vehicle display!

Kit has most of the contents of the original kit except for spare light bulbs and a drive belt.  These items are not included because the lamps come in two voltages, 12V and 6V and are easily obtained on Ebay to suit your needs,  and the drive belts can be obtained at a good auto parts store.

The parts bag itself is A REPRODUCTION  spare parts bag, 8-3/8" X 11-3/8" drawstring, OD military canvas and is stenciled with info in black on one side.  Bag material is NOT brand new, but very lightly used to give the kit a "used, nostalgic" look and feel.   It is beautifully marked as seen above with your choice of the Ford or Willys bag version.

Contents are reproduction packaging with brand new components which are virtually identical to the original parts.    I  have created wrappers which vary in regard to dates  of manufacture and manufacturers’ name so that there will be variety among them.  No choice of date or manufacturer of the components, but will be early and mid war dates.

Kit Contents:

1. “BAG, SPARE PARTS ”,  REPRODUCTION 8-3/8" X 11-3/8" W/COTTON DRAWSTRING, OD CANVAS, and is stenciled with info in black on one side.  Bag material is NOT brand new, but very lightly used to give the kit a "used, nostalgic" look and feel.   It is beautifully marked as seen above with your choice of the Ford or Willys bag version.

And then wrapped in paper wrapper with proper markings on front for the Champion J8C plugs.

This is an outstanding item featured in this kit!

4.   CORES,   TIRE VALVE,  STOCK NO.  8 - C - 6750,  5  PC. ; Ford FM-B1724, Willys WO-A5491 : Packed in wrapper with proper markings on front.

5.   CAPS, TIRE VALVE, (SCREWDRIVER TYPE), STOCK NO.  8 - C - 650, 5  PC. ; Ford FM-GPW-1720, Willys WO-A5986 :  Packed in wrapper with proper markings on front.  These are not parkerized as issue, but are chrome plated.

6.   ADAPTER, LUBRICATING GUN, STOCK NO.  41 - A - 14 - 800,  1 PC. ; Ford FM-GP-17126, Willys WO-A11765 : Packed in wrapper with proper markings on front.  This is the “late war”  screw on tip that is about 1” long and replaces the early and mid-war 6” long tube and connector which were cumbersome.  Zinc Plated as original issue.   Some adapters were longer, but I have an original photo of this very short version during WWII.

7.   Tape, Friction, black, grade A, ¾ inch wide roll (8oz.), STOCK NO. 17-T-805,  Ford FM-GPW-17058, Willys WO-A7684 : Packed in paper wrapper as issued in a “kit”, but not in a cardboard box as sometimes seen when issued as a individual item.  Same item as widely used by Paratroopers, Infantry, and even Germans who captured rolls of it!

8. Wire, Iron, annealed, 22 ga. X ¼ lb. Coil,  STOCK NO. 22-W-650,  Ford FM-GPW-17060, Willys WO-A7685 : Packed in paper wrapper as issued in a “kit”.

9. WRENCH, FLUTED, WARNER GEAR No T84J-100  : STOCK NO. 41-W-2459-500,  Ford FM-GPW-17091, Willys WO-A1492 : Packed in wrapper with proper markings on front, dipped in anti-corrosion coating as original.   This is not set up as a part of the GI spare parts kit per the Table of Equipment, but I have included it in this kit for your convenience, and because many GI’s put this wrench into the spare parts bag to keep it more secure than in the large tool bag.  This is a really nice bonus item!

10. BAG, KEY, H-700: Small cotton bag which would contain 2 standard vehicle H-700 keys (not included) AND IS MARKED ON ONE SIDE AS SEEN.

Gentlemen, please read this little bit about the spare parts kits...the elusive little kit that no one seems to have available for sale except me.....and here is why....

Well, I got tired of waiting for someone to offer it and decided to make one for myself. When I was done, I had a lot of friends that said they would like one despite the inappropriate wrapper here and a little something there.

As far as Ebay, yes, I tested these on Ebay and I sold a good number, but my NOS bags (correct size and all but actually were BAR and Thompson spare parts bags) were getting low so I changed and now have a repro bag with parts kit data stamped on them. Darned fuctional and look great. Heck, I even threw in a T84 Bristol wrench!

Friends, just add up the costs, the research, the phone calls, and your time and effort for a one kit pusuit and I promise you'll wish you hadn't. This is a lot of work, and a lot of very choosy enthusiasts to satisfy along with some not so choosy, like me. So if you want all perfect repro parts, first find them, then pay for them. You are happy, and me too.

The kits are not perfect, admittedly. Look at my website. I never claimed to be perfect.

But I try to keep my products affordable to the masses where guys like me do their very best with what they have. I won't put original spare parts in original boxes in an original bag and ever hope to get any actual use out of it. It would be way too valuable. If you could find the parts!

You can, however, buy a cheap $75 kit, throw it in your glove box and use the dang parts to fix broke stuff whenever you need them! What an idea!

Now that is a product I am happy to sell.
