history    Siuath    logs (soon!)

Black-skinned, she, with the high forehead, those prominent cheekbones, that pointed nose and chin; features are sharp and narrow, an appropriate match for her slender form. A mixture of mirth and mischief are the cause of the spark in her dark eyes, along with the ready smile which is white and wide. Wiry, black hair has been captured into dozens of miniature braids, decorated with elaborately colored beads: they're responsible for the jangle that accompanies of her vivacious movements.

Bethia's history

Freedom, solitude: this is what first attracted Bethia to the idea of trading, and, upon her fourteenth turnday -- when Thread still threatened Pern's skies -- she latched upon the idea. Born to two chefs of Starmount Hold, such a career was expected of the girl. This, however, didn't exactly sit well with her; she desired change, freedom of choice: a trader's lifestyle appealed to her whimsies.

At first, trading life was exactly as she hoped... when she made a trade. Two turns later, she found herself down south (Azov!) and loving it -- plus loving a certain no-name bronzerider. Their alliance later brought a baby girl -- Teeia -- into the world, whom Bethia dragged along with her when she finally decided to move on and slip back into the trading world. By the next turn, Bethia and Teeia found themselves at Starmount Weyr.

Her term as a Starmount Trader was quite short. It ended abruptly when Liscaya of Azov, rider of brown Fivreth, suggested she become an Azovian candidate when her lifemate nearly scared the trader witless. Swallowing the nervousness at the chance of meeting the bronzerider she left not but a Turn ago, Bethia accepted the offer, took her favorite trunk and, incidentally, left Teeia behind with a lower caverns woman.

Candidacy came and went -- a blur of meeting incoming candidates, of completing daily chores, and of watching the eggs -- and soon Bethia was shoving on her robe to march out onto the Sands -- Hatching! It was there, on Azov's Sands, where she paired with a summer-skied blue dragonet: Siuath.

Of that resulting clutch -- Kintari's gold Kireseth and J'en's brown Nyebenth's -- Bethia and Siuath also shared Weyrlinghood with C'drel (Camdarel) and bronze Matrith, M'tin (Martin) and blue Vrondith, Kelenzia and green Shaloth... and we mustn't forgot L'jay (Lemjay) and green Telerith.

Much like candidacy, Weyrlinghood passed by quickly without much havoc -- though, it seems as if chaos caught up with Bethia at the Azov Gather and, as it turned out to be, the Weyrling Graduation. An added electricity was at that Gather, most likely due to L'jay's green being proddy, as Bethia received her rider knot and was put into the Typhoon Wing under bronzerider D'lvan. Telerith must have excellent timing, for as soon as all the 'lings were knotted, the green rose in her maiden Flight. Siuath, with a sense of honor, chased after and, in the end, was the one who caught -- and made fishies with -- Telerith.

Senior Weyrwoman Eliara stepped down -- Kintari stepped up -- and life continued. As is natural for female dragons, the Senior Weyrwoman's gold Kireseth rose in flight; the victor was bronze Matrith, lifemate of C'drel. With his Weyrleadership came many changes in the wings -- especially for Bethia and Siuath. Not long after he had settled into his position, he asked Bethia to become Weyrsecond and his 'second -- and so she did, and life was good.

NOTE: This was the way it was when I left the game because of RL reasons. Since then, Azov has closed down, and in its place a new weyr, Kalseru, has opened. Bethia is still a dragonrider and still happy and still with Siuath.
